If you were around the neighborhood this past week, you probably witnessed the contractors working for Mediacom doing some digging around the neighborhood. The results of the TDR process were great — they indicated that more than 95% of the existing cable can be replaced with fiber optic cable. However, there were a few segments of the network where some new conduit needed to be installed. That is what the Mediacom team will continue working on this week — highlighted in the map below by the red lines. If everything continues as planned, Mediacom will start installing fiber optic cable beginning on Monday, September 16th.
